Bhubaneswar: Normal life has been disrupted at Barapali in Bargarh district due to a 12-hour bandh being observed in the town by the Barpali Nagarika Committee to press for appointment of doctors against all vacant posts in the local Government hospital.
Schools, colleges, shops and Government and private offices have remained closed. Similarly, vehicular movement has been disrupted as activists have blocked the roads.
According to reports, the citizens’ committee called for the 12-hour bandh for today as the authorities didn’t listen to their demand during the last 10 days of agitation. The CDMO had earlier assured to take required steps to meet their demand.
Adequate police personnel have been deployed to ensure that no untoward incident occurs in the town during the bandh.
