Rayagada, July 14: Kashipur police in Rayagada district today arrested as many as 11 persons for allegedly abducting two supervisors from a construction site in the area on Monday evening.
The accused have also demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh to release the two supervisors identified as Jitendra Naik (25) and Senapati Naik (40).
Police said that a group of 14 persons reached the construction site and enquired about the road construction work from the labourers.
“The contractor of the construction work was absent. The accused forcibly abducted the two supervisors and demanded ransom of Rs 10 lakh to release them. They also threatened to kill them if the ransom money was not paid,” said a police official.
Police said that subsequently they rescued the victims and nabbed 11 of the accused. Police said that they are also trying to nab the three rest accused.
